One of our greatest assets is the dedication of countless volunteers who help in many ways, from sewing panels to entering names into our database, from taking blocks into schools to shifts at the front desk.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with The AIDS Memorial Quilt, we have several different opportunities available, including:

Volunteer @ the Foundation's Headquarters

Volunteers are needed at the home of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in Atlanta, GA. If you are in the area and would like to help out, please contact Roddy Williams, Operations Manager, at 404/ 688-5500 ext. 224, via fax at 404/ 688-5552 or via email at volunteer@aidsquilt.org.

We will need the following information from you to get started:

    • Full Name
    • Daytime Phone
    • Evening Phone
    • Email Address
    • Times You Are Available

Current volunteer needs at The Quilt's National Headquiarters in Atlanta include:

    • sewing
    • clerical assistance (data entry, filing, envelope stuffing, etc.)
    • translation: Spanish & other languages (can be done from home!)
    • archival (sorting, documenting, filing)
    • physical assistance with archive photography

Volunteer at a Display

Check out our display schedule to find a display in your community. You can contact the local chapter or community host for information about volunteering at a specific display.


Volunteer at a Chapter

Members of our chapter program are actively working in their local communities every day, helping prevent new HIV infections and assisting Service Organizations raise awareness and funds. Join a local chapter or panel-making workshop and help others make panels for The Quilt, or use The AIDS Memorial Quilt to help raise HIV/AIDS awareness in your own community, to conduct outreach programs and much more.
